Reiki uses a powerful form of Universal Energy, the life-force, which flows through all living things - it is a natural healing energy activated by intention, which stimulates the body's regenerative self-healing ability by promoting the free-flow of energy. Mikao Usui originally taught Reiki to his students by way of a lengthy "apprenticeship" giving them time to learn to build up and practice sensing the energy. Since those early days it has been discovered that the Reiki energy can be easily passed on from a Reiki Master to student by means of an "Attunement" and it can work just as effectively in a much shorter time-span. Many western people are now "attuned" to the Reiki energy in one or two-day sessions, which works well for most people, especially if back-up from their Reiki Master is available. Having had on-going contact over the years with my own Reiki Master, I am well aware that after receiving the Reiki "attunement" and having time to digest the information given on Day 1, returning on Day 2, gives an ideal opportunity for students to discuss their experiences and practice using it on each other. I am happy therefore, to discuss individual needs with clients and to offer them, either training in a small group that can meet over two sessions to talk over their experiences from the previous week, or personal tuition as required. With referal to a local Reiki Share Group after the initial training, students can practice with like minded people and gain valuable experience and confidence in practicing this wonderful holistic therapy. All students will receive a certificate of training to the appropriate Degree, which will enable them to join the UK Reiki Federation as either an Associate, Practitioner, Master-Practitioner or Master-Teacher Member. After training at Level I, students will be able to self-treat and also treat family and friends, pets and plants etc. With appropriate training and experience at Level II they will strengthen the energy further and be competent in working with others and sending distant healing. They will hold a Reiki Level 2 certificate and be able to purchase practitioner insurance and practice professionally. Valerie Lowe is a 'Master Teacher Member of the UK Reiki Federation' and provides on-going support after training. Enquiries are welcomed from prospective students at all levels for future training. Classes outside of Kent Classes can be held in areas apart from East Kent if a small group is available in the suggested town.
